Our client is a proprietary trading firm specializing in High-Frequency Trading (HFT). Leveraging cutting-edge infrastructure and low-latency algorithms, the firm executes trades across global cryptocurrency and traditional exchanges — often within microseconds.
They are already active on all major crypto platforms and selected APAC-region exchanges, steadily growing their PnL.

Role
As Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for building and maintaining robust compliance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
This role requires a strategic leader who can navigate the complex regulatory landscape of traditional finance and digital assets while supporting the firm's ambitious expansion plans.
You'll work directly with the executive team to ensure legal integrity while enabling business growth in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the firm's legal lead, ensuring compliance, legal integrity, and effective risk mitigation across jurisdictions.
- Advise the CEO and executive team on matters related to Corporate Law, IP Law, Labor Law, Tax Law, Contract Law, regulatory compliance, and cross-border structuring.
- Lead and scale the in-house legal team; manage and coordinate external counsel across multiple regions.
- Oversee contract negotiation and drafting with exchanges, brokers, and strategic partners.
- Participate in regulatory engagement and manage legal aspects of IP licensing and international operations.
- Drive the development and implementation of internal legal policies, compliance protocols, and crisis response strategies.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings and regulatory interactions, where necessary.
Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years in compliance, risk, internal or external audit, or legal roles within FinTech, Payment Services, or Digital Asset firms.
- Execution: Proven ability to independently build and implement compliance structures in high-growth or early-stage environments.
- Regulatory Fluency: Strong knowledge of AML/KYC, CDD Reporting, market conduct, sanctions screening, and licensing regimes. Experience using tools like WorldCheck, LexisNexis, etc., and previous interaction with UAE regulators is a plus.
- Communication: Clear communicator with strong judgment, discretion, and ethical standards.
- Cultural Fit: Comfort working in a fast-paced, founder-led environment. Cultural alignment with a predominantly Russian-speaking internal team is an advantage.
- Flexibility: Open to part-time or project-based onboarding, with potential for full-time conversion.
- Certification: Possession of ACAMS, ACFE, or ICA is preferred.
