$210.000 base + unique equity plan, details below
San Diego, CA, USA
This is an incredibly important hire for us that's directly focused on building our software—so we can get a better product into your hands, faster. This person will earn compensation and equity on the same terms as our founders.
👉 Urgent, interviews will be conducted throughout May 2025. 👉👉 It will start as a part time role!
About the role
We’re looking for the next member of our development team at Outseta. In this role you’ll become the third member of our engineering team—directly responsible for shipping new features and building software that’s secure, stable, and performant.
Role Impact
This is a senior level position where you’ll be working alongside two CTO level engineers who have been building software for 25+ years. You’ll have a ton of autonomy—we’re looking for someone who can come in and ship software with minimal oversight while sharing the responsibility of managing a piece of software that’s critical infrastructure for our customers.
We’re out to find someone who wants to be on our team long term, but who is comfortable starting with a part-time position. This is a fully remote position—we meet as a team for one hour per week on Mondays.

Job Requirements
- Full-stack software development—.NET backend, AngularJS / React frontend. Please do not apply if you do not have significant .NET experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience with SQL.
- Experience building critical software systems—our customers’ businesses run on our product.
- Due to how our environment is constructed, this position is best suited for someone comfortable with working on a PC (rather than a Mac).
Nice-to-have but not required
- Systems administration experience preferred—we’d love it if you have experience with AWS and monitoring critical infrastructure and backend processes.
- Experience creating documentation and developer focused content is a plus.
- An interest in AI’s evolving role in software development—help us make Outseta easier for our customers to adopt as they build software with AI. And help us incorporate AI into our own software and workflows, too.
👉 Compensation Structure
You’ll be hired as a member of our team subject to our “Choose Your Own Adventure” compensation model.
- You’ll be paid based off of a full-time salary of $210,000/year
- You’ll earn equity at the same rate and terms as our founders
- 2-4 days per week to start — your pick
We’re looking for someone to start at 50% cash compensation, 50% equity compensation (refer to the post mentioned above). You'll start accuring equity in the business immediately (there's no cliff or vesting period). We're looking for someone who wants to build a sizable ownership stake in the company quickly and work with us long term. For example:
- 2 days per week = 1 day per week paid ($3500/mo) + 1 day earning equity
- 3 days per week = 1.5 days per week paid ($5250/mo) + 1.5 days earning equity
- 4 days per week = 2 days per week paid ($7,000/mo) + 2 days earning equity
At 2 days per week you’ll earn a typical VP level equity grant within one year (we’ll walk you through the model).
The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to join a start-up that’s 8+ years old, bootstrapped, and profitable—with an incredible amount of upside. You’ll be the 7th member of our team and we’re looking to you to help us level up our product velocity.
Finalist applicants will be given full access to all information about our business so they can make an informed decision about joining our team and the size of the opportunity in front of us.
